Safety & Setup

TENTS SHOULD NEVER BE USED AS EMERGENCY SHELTERS. In the event of severe or threatening weather, evacuate all guests and staff to a secure permanent building.

  • Pole tents are designed to provide a strong, stable temporary structure when properly installed and anchored; however, they are not intended to provide protection during extreme or catastrophic weather.
  • Monitor weather conditions before and throughout the event. Evacuate the tent if severe winds, thunderstorms, lightning, tornadoes, or other dangerous conditions are approaching.
  • Always ensure the structure is properly anchored for the installation site and expected conditions. Soil conditions and local requirements can affect the anchoring system needed.
  • Keep all entrances, exits and emergency routes clear and accessible at all times.
  • Inspect the tent, anchoring system, cables, connections and fasteners before use and periodically during longer installations. Replace damaged or worn components before allowing occupancy.
  • Do not allow guests or staff to climb, hang from or place additional loads on the tent frame.
  • Do not allow snow, ice, water or debris to accumulate on the roof.
  • Maintain adequate ventilation when the tent is enclosed, and follow all applicable fire, occupancy, electrical and local building requirements.
  • Keep the structure clear of overhead power lines, tree branches and other potential hazards and identify underground utilities before staking or anchoring.

Installation manual and engineered tent drawings can be provided.
